Trash Screenshots
Automatically deletes screenshots from your desktop on a schedule you set. Stop drowning in old screenshots.
Trash Screenshots is a tiny menu-bar app for macOS that quietly deletes screenshots from your desktop on a schedule you choose. Set it once, forget about it, and never let your desktop become a screenshot graveyard again.
Install instructions
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile - Drag TrashScreenshots to the Applications folder
- Double-click the app from Applications (you'll see a warning — this is expected)
- Click OK on the warning
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then click Open Anyway
- Confirm one more time, and you're in
The warning appears because the app isn't signed with an Apple Developer certificate. It's the standard macOS Gatekeeper flow for indie apps. You only have to do this once per install — after the first launch, macOS remembers and won't ask again.
